After major problems the last few days with word press we are back up and running why didnt we have a backup we do but that would not of solved the problem we have had bigger problems to tend with I’m doing a directory myself soon for computer repairs laptop repairs and server repairs i Will start with the UK then the us etc. So then you cant go with me no problem have a look down the side these are the directories i am listed in well  have fun all im out my day off tomorrow. need me over the weekend get in touch I’m still about. I thought since this hosting company really got the better of me and they also got six month of my money and i got zero they deserve a review a bad one. What happened exactly well i could not get to my server because they would not let me in my account it took me six month of there security checks to get it back including 2 copy’s of my passport address proof and all sorts when it came time to renew they were not going to refund for the time i could not access this is really bad here is what me and them had to say earlier tonight with there customer service no refund or offer to give anything back or even a extra six months for signing with them again bad customer service

Now you tell me do you want to go with name cheap.com if they do get in contacti will update the post. For a person who has his name and address on his blog why would i want to protect my name ?  do not trust  namecheap. you can click on the do not trust name cheap and see who they are. I have put a comment up at hosting exposed and i recomend if you are thinking of hosting go over there and get some sound advice he is a no thrills who exposes bad hosting companies

software that computer engineers find useful

All of the windows disks i am talking about windows 95 98 XP VISTA 7 they are all usefull you might expect everyone uses the same no i even knew a writer that still had a 386 computer very old and was using MS DOS version 3.30 very old while i am on the subject ms dos floppy disks with the system as well. I have all these disks and i find them pretty usefull. next a copy of the antivirus that i use and malware software very useful for carrying around. When you do call outs you never really know what you are going to come up against. Hard disk software such as low level formatters don’t use low level format unless you know what you are doing be warned This is just some of the software i carry round with me. there are loads more but i just cant think off the top of my head. if you are a teck witch software do you carry about.

We were down for a few hours today

Yes the site was down these things do happen from time to time and there was nothing i really could do about it. We still have a problem but we are working on it as fast as well can. The site still fully loads up. The major problem is the way WordPress is made and how the links work. Its not for the faint hearted either. I am setting up a sister to this site just so if one website needs updating we can redirect people i am sure i will come up with a solution as i am told the rest of the site was up and running just this bit was down. servers are fun to work with and problems with WordPress are complicated but fun to figure out very perplexing. I do want to say sorry to anyone who could not get here today but we back up now and all problems will be sorted out by the weekend. We did lose a lot of people today as well i do know because of the server log but sometimes these things happen so next time there will be something in place. we lost about 30-40 visitors today quite a few.

Computer repairs are one of my favourite jobs weather it be windows 95 or windows 7. what is involved in computer repair ? Well quite a bit from replacing faulty parts to installing new software and keeping software up to date. The other thing that people sometimes want is to fine tune the computer so it works at 100% computers these days are on the down and laptops tablets and pads are taking over but there is still quite a few people with a computer. I have to admit i still prefer to work on a computer. I do still build computers as well all i ask is that people buy the parts them selves and bring them to me. Viruses they can be bad and wreck you computer. So to save you a little money i advise that you back up your computer at least once a month yer i know its a pain but in the long term it will help you. I dropped my laptop can you fix it ?

Here is a problem that people never use to like to tell me that they had dropped there laptop. What happens when you drop it you may wonder what happens the easy anser is if you drop an egg what happens it cracks this is what happens with a laptop you have about a 75% chance of the hard drive being damaged and that will bring problems latter on usually. There is no certain way until i look at the hard drive with a diagnostic program and check the system log. The other major things that can happen is a tiny crack in the mother board. the screen cable can come out the screen can go or the inverter. So quite a lot to look into can it be fixed yes and no it depends on the age of the laptop and what damge has been done sometimes it can be cheap and sometimes it can get expensive. if you have dropped it i suggest having it checked out.

“Scoot.com” sales talk

“scoot.com” were on to me today and asked me if i wanted to go in there directory. Right let me explain this to everyone this is what i know the top three places in google get 70% of the traffic for that keyword hence everyone wants to be at the top. “scoot.com” i have never heard of so it has no authority otherwise people talk about it. Your directory has a PR6 i believe that is top page rank not every listing there is about 1000 searches for computer repairs in Newcastle upon tyne on google a month so lets say 70% google send that to the top three listing that leaves us with about 300 visits if you are not in the top 5 you are not going to get into that traffic by the time you get to second and third page. I have another blog and it gets loads of traffic and it makes money. I am in for making money and the only way i can see that is a trial. here are some of the reviews i found on the Internet about “soot.com” and the first one that comes up as a one star that’s not good your sales is really bad you can see the review here

in summing up and being fair you may have had a look at my site. I do SEO and have worked freelance as well. You can not afford to kill people in the SEO world your computer repair page in Newcastle shows a page rank of 0 on my computer. I cant comment to much on that but i suspect there is not enough traffic hitting it. If you continue to do business that way that you are you will lose even the free listing people. now this what i am writing about you will rank pretty high and higher then you could rank me for computers and laptop repair. I am afraid my finale decision is that i cant use your directory myself and second i can’t recommend you to any of my SEO people. One last thing how can you charge more than yahoo when they are something like 8th in the world. CDs DVD rewritable witch lasts longer

Here is something you may not know about backing up. I recommend if you buy back up media always get rewritable with out being an expert on CD’s and DVDs the rewritable last longer why because the chemicals have not finished. When you get a normal DVD and CD and rewrite once you record that is it you can not record to them again and the chemical process is over. You may think im talking rubbish so i will back it up from a very well unknown person called John he use to have the shop called old hits and it was in Newcastle city centre doesn’t sound interesting no but underneath the shop was Aladdin’s cave and i mean the real Aladdin’s cave. What did he do one of his jobs was to convert VHS caset tapes to DVD but the more interesting job he tidied up recordings off bands and made the music ready to go back on Cd’s again i know he had worked in the back i think it was with the rolling stones im not sure but basically he was connected to music recording and every-time he came into Clayton Computers guess witch disks he bought re record-ables if he is in music he has to know why when the author of songs come back in ten years and the recordings knacked up who would get the blame and lose a lot of really big money. i have came across loads of interesting people in my time but john was one of the best.
